What’s New…

Hey you guys!!! Welcome to the new and improved version of the website!! It’s been a loooong time coming!! I’m so grateful for the team that helped make it happen…Mollie Durbin for the new design and coding, Jeff Arnold for the EPK’s and the “By Faith” music video and Amanda Boyd for the EPK graphics. I’m so blessed to be surrounded by such amazingly gifted friends!! You’ll also notice there’s some new music available. I recorded…and am still in the process of recording…a new project this year. It’s been such a sweet gift from the Lord. I’m working with Preston and Spencer Dalton (producers) and we’ve been having a BLAST!!! Hope you enjoy!!!

Today I turned in the VBS songs for 2012!!! Hard to believe when we just premiered the 2011 music last week at the LifeWay Kids Conference in Birmingham, but we have to start this early to get everything done. It’s always a sweet time to spend with the Lord trying to discern His heart for the group of songs.

Thought I might give you a little background on the “By Faith” music video. I wrote this song last fall sitting beside my mama’s hospital bed while she was fighting pancreatic cancer. This was the first song I wrote for 2011′s “Big Apple Adventure: Where Faith and Life Connect.” I couldn’t believe the theme when I first it heard because that was exactly where my heart was at the time…desperately connecting my faith with my life. I actually found out what the theme was the day my mama was diagnosed! She passed away on Christmas day last year and throughout the past months the Lord has used this song to encourage my heart many times. In August, my buddy Jeff Arnold and I flew to NYC to shoot a video for the song. We had such favor the whole time we were there!! In the 3 days we were there, we got 10 hours of sleep, but it was so much fun!! The biggest miracle was that we shot in 21 different locations and found a perfect parking place 21 times!!! FAVOR!!! (-: I’d like to thank David Watson for assisting Jeff A., Dani Zak for the hair and make-up and Bill Freda for playing the role of road manager for the weekend. I’m so excited with how it turned out. This video as well as all the music for VBS 2011 is dedicated to my mother, Elinor Ruth Pinion Slaughter.

Ok I am crying about your blog regarding your song that you wrote while your mom was sick with cancer. I still can’t believe both your parents are gone. I do miss you all. But, know that we will see them again in Heaven and they are having a revival up in Heaven!!!! When I went to NY with one of my friends- we had a blast and no sleep as well. What an incredible city!!!! You are so right about favor- God favors those you live right and love him! God commands that all his children are blessed and you truly are blessed!!!!! I am so proud of you. Hope to see you in January. Keep in touch if possible.

You are an awesome “brother”. Watching your faith through the years in both good and bad times, watching you give thanks and praise to Him in the joy and the pain means a lot to so many. You will never know the impact you have had in my life, but my journey of being sold out to God and having freedom to worship Him how he leads me took a huge step forward with you. Thanks and the new songs are really great!

    Jeff,

You have been teaching me and my church family your moves and songs for VBS for several years and we love all you do. I can feel the anointing come through my TV set every time I tune in to you. You are so amazing and your love for the Lord shines very bright. I finally had the chance to meet you face to face last year at Ridgecrest in Asheville, NC. I was so excited to meet my spirit filled hero. You meet so many people in your life that I do not expect you to remember me but I only met one person and I will never forget it. It was GREAT!! You are such an inspiration to every one who comes in contact with you and your love for Christ. I am so excited to get to come back to Ridgecrest again this year. I hope I have the chance to say hey to you but if not I will still enjoy your workshop and the “Broadway Show” that you have planned for us. Your Sister in Christ,
    Tanya

What a testimony of God’s faithful love, peace, comfort and strength during one of the most painful times in our lives. I know mama has heard this song and is smiling. I can hear her now, “Now Jeff, that is one of the best you have done”. :o ) She felt that about all of them. I am blessed above all sisters to have a brother like you. Keep going strong in the Lord. He has many more miraculous times for you!!

    LOve you,
    Vickie
