Full Week… Full Heart

Me and Andrew in Addis Ababa

So I’ve had the past week off and it has been awesome!

After getting back to Nashville from my Aunt Linda’s Miracle Party last week (read more about the Miracle Party here…), the party theme just kept going… and so did the miracles:

One of my buddies, Andrew, from the Visiting Orphans “Man Up” trip I took to Ethiopia recently, came to visit for a couple of days.

With buddy Alex at citizenship party!

I got to have dinner with my childhood friend, Suzy, who was in town for work.

I had a dinner party at my house Friday night.

My buddy Alex from Lebanon was recently granted his citizenship here and we celebrated that Saturday night.

Kids @ Grace Center waiting to walk into service and rock it!

Sunday morning I led the kids at my church, Grace Center, in a few of the Big Apple songs for the service and they rocked it!

That night I was in Memphis for my cousin Donnie’s birthday party.

And finally, since Monday I’ve been at my sister Vickie’s home in MS. Many of you know she was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy 23 years ago. For the past 10 years her mobility has been limited to a walker and a wheelchair.

With my sister Vickie

In April, she had a bad fall in her home and was suddenly completely paralyzed! After several MRI’s her doctor discovered a genetic bone spur in her back that had been gradually shutting down her spine. At that point, her spine was functioning at 20%! He told her that this could have been the problem all along and not MD. He also said he could remove the spur and she could possibly be walking without a walker in a year.

Miraculous news after 23 years!

She had surgery in July and is finishing up her first month of physical therapy. Today she was able to get in the car and go out to eat for the first time since March!

I am very proud of the work she has been doing, and even more so today as I watched her stand up completely straight with the walker for the first time in years. My heart is full and incredibly blessed!

By faith!

God works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28

How magnificent that a fall, something that is normally a bad thing, was the instrument God used for the beginning of healing. He is so awesome!! I am so thrilled for you both and look forward to the updates as her progress improves.

Jeff, you are such an inspiration to me – I can’t begin to thank you enough for your weekly updates. You are consistently one of the tools God uses to bless me; thank you so much for your faithfulness!

    With much love and gratitude,

    Terri

    My dear Jeff,

My heart just burst with love and pride for having such a wonderful, talented and loving brother and friend as I have in you. Your passion for Jesus is beyond any words that I have. Your heart for children to know our loving Savior has allowed the Lord to open doors for you all over the world to share the gospel in word and song. How many times do we wonder if the Lord hears our cries when we feel such despair. And here we are today giving shouts of praise for all the many ways He has shown Himself faithful in the past couple of months. We truly serve an awesome God who is in the world today. He has shown Himself to us over and over. There is no way to describe the feelings that came over me as I stood up straight and tall for the first time in over ten years. His word is faithful and true. He has told us to believe and receive, to walk by faith and not by sight, and as you have said in song so many times….”so I say to the mountain move….” Thank you for sharing my testimony of trials and triumph today. I pray that many will read all of these mighty moves of God and know and believe that He can and will do it again. If you have a need I know He has the answer, Child reach out and claim it for you are standing on Holy Ground!!!

    I love you so much,
    Vickie

Jeff, I just read all of your posts from “Not Forgotten……Filled With Hope” to this one ’cause I haven’t been keepin up with you lately. I am absolutely over-joyed and overwelmed by God’s goodness and His amazing, miraculous ways!!! HE IS SO GOOD! I am so thrilled that you were able to go to Ethiopia and minister and be so blessed by God! We (Crossover Church) just had our Missions Celebration last Wednesday night. It was incredible!! I couldn’t sleep, I was so excited about all the things the Lord’s been up to and we only had time to hear 10 minutes of news from each of 4 missions groups as we went from room to room around the church building. There were about 10 – 12 countries that were represented that night. AND God spoke to my son’s(Daniel – 15) heart about going to Haiti. I have continued to pray for you and your family for the past couple of years. Thank you and thank Vickie for sharing a part of her story and your Aunt Linda! Oh! God is just fillin my heart to OVERFLOWING right now as I think of what He has done and the fact that He’s not finished!! I love Him! and I love you and your family! Stay strong in The faith!
