25 Years and Counting…

It’s hard to believe, but I just finished all my camps with CK (CentriKid Camp) 1!

We were at Shocco Springs in Talladega, AL for a week and had a blast! Between the week and the weekend camps, we had close to 2,000 kids and adults in attendance.

Our camp theme verse for this summer is Philippians 4:19, “And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” We have been learning how God provides forgiveness, that He provides a calling on our lives, and how He always provides enough to get through whatever we face in this life!

I have loved getting to dive into these topics during the worship times. It’s an amazing thing to get to see a kid’s face light up when they really get it!

One night after worship one of my team members, Bethany, and I were talking to a little girl who had come down front to pray. She was going through some really major transitions in her life and was pretty distraught.

Well, as only the Lord could orchestrate, Bethany began to share how she had walked through the exact same type of situation and could totally relate to what this girl was going through! When we finished talking and were getting up to leave, she looked at Bethany and me and said, “God really does provide enough, doesn’t He.”

That’s the kind of moment that makes it all worth it… why I still love doing camp after 25 years!

I’ll be home for 2 weeks and then I’ll pick back up with CK5 at Ridgecrest for another week and weekend camp.

While I’m home I’ll be working on some LifeWay promo videos for VBS 2012 “Amazing Wonders Aviation” and the Club VBS line “Space Quest.” I’ll let you know how it goes!

CK1 is a great team, and CentriKid camps are amazing! I heard you get to work with CK5 this year too, we had the privilege of serving with them two cycles this summer in Texas. Give them a big hug for us!

Just did my very first VBS and was in charge of music. The music that came with the VBS stuff was fantastic and loved it SO much. I love the idea of the hand signs with the music, it makes the kids enjoy it more it seems. I know I do. Well I would really like to find a DVD that I can start buying that has the music with the performance like the Worship Rally VBS had. Can anyone tell me if there is such a thing or do I just have to start collecting VBS music only. Keep up the great work that God has lead you to do and we will continue to spread it around along with you. God Bless you.
